Arrest made in Lone Pine homicide
A Redmond man was arrested Monday in connection with the death of a Prineville man in Lone Pine.
On the morning of Sunday, April 18, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a report of a deceased person on Lone Pine Road in Jefferson County, Jefferson County District Attorney Steve Leriche reported.
At this location, the deputy observed a deceased person identified as Edgar Morales, age 30, who was located next to his white Ford truck. Morales, from Prineville, appears to have died from a gunshot wound.
The Tri-County Major Incident Team was immediately activated, and they have been continuously investigating this matter, Leriche stated. On Monday, April 19, Honorio Huerta-Vazquez, age 35, was arrested for criminal negligent homicide and tampering with evidence. Huerta-Vazquez resides in Redmond.
Huerta-Vazquez is being held on a $150,000 bond in Jefferson County Jail.
