A Prineville resident was arrested on multiple charges, including hit and run, after leaving the scene of an accident on Combs Flat Road on July 3.
At approximately 12:04 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, deputies from the Crook County Sheriff's Office, assisted by Oregon State Police and the Prineville Police Department, responded to a report of a hit and run accident on Combs Flat Road near the intersection with Lincoln Road.
The crime was called in by several witnesses who watched the vehicle, driven by Brian Granger, age 55, hit multiple stationary objects and vehicles before leaving the scene, headed south on Combs Flat Road. The vehicle was last reported turning south onto Juniper Canyon Road, with a flat front tire and body pieces falling off the vehicle.
Deputies located the vehicle traveling at approximately 20 miles per hour on Juniper Canyon Road with emergency flashers on. At the time of the stop, the vehicle was running on three tires, the front passenger side tire had fallen off, and the vehicle was running on the rim. Significant damage to the front of the vehicle confirmed the reported hit and run.
Following an investigation, Granger, who is from Prineville, was arrested on five counts of hit and run, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Granger admitted to alcohol, marijuana and prescription drug use prior to the crash.
