Corey Engstrom, 38, died after a crash on Southwest High Desert Drive Monday afternoon

A local man was killed in a vehicle collision with a motorcycle in southwest Prineville Monday afternoon.

Prineville police responded to the crash at the 2700 block of Southwest High Desert Drive shortly before 2:40 p.m. Callers reported the collision involved a truck and motorcycle and the operator of the motorcycle was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, officers saw a 2000 Ford F250 and a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle at the scene. The motorcycle sustained heavy damage. Officers attempted life-saving measures on the operator of the motorcycle, 38-year-old Corey Engstrom, but they were unsuccessful. Engstrom died at the scene.

Oregon State Police was contacted and responded to complete an accident reconstruction. Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of High Desert Drive were closed for approximately 3.5 hours while officers and troopers investigated.
