Driver suffered possible medical issue and crashed through a fence and field, resulting in driver fatality and injuries to female passenger

A male driver of a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a female passenger were involved in a fatal crash in Crook County on Saturday, Sept. 25.

The driver, Jack Lawrence Bailey, age 64, of Willamina, was traveling eastbound on Highway 126 at milepost 10, in Crook County. He had a passenger, Laura Jean Duncan, age 60, also of Willamina. According to Oregon State Police report, the driver possibly had a medical issue, causing the motorcycle to travel across the highway, through a fence, and into a field.

Both occupants were thrown from the motorcycle. Bailey was pronounced deceased at the scene. Duncan was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Bend with non-life-threatening injuries. She was also notified as next of kin.

The Oregon Department of Transportation, Crook County Fire and Rescue, and the Crook County Sheriff's Office assisted, as well as the Oregon State Police. The motorcycle was towed by STAR Towing.
