Redmond man killed in head-on crash
A Redmond man was killed in a head-on collision near Prineville early Monday morning.
According to an Oregon State Police report, the crash happened just after 6 a.m., on Highway 126 near milepost 12, west of Prineville.Â
A preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Chevrolet pickup, operated by 24-year-old John Sacco, of Redmond, crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Freightliner pulling a standard 53-foot box trailer, operated by 59-year-old Harold Blan Jr., of Prineville.Â
Sacco sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Blan Jr. was treated on-scene for his injuries. Â
Highway 126 was closed for approximately six hours and a detour was put in place by ODOT.Â
