Prineville woman injured in DUII head-on crash
A Prineville woman was seriously injured in a head-on crash with a driver that authorities believe was impaired by a controlled substance.
According to an Oregon State Police report, the crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. on O'Neil Highway near milepost 11. A Chevrolet Impala driven by 24-year-old Prineville man Austen Minor was driving east on the highway and drove into the oncoming lane, striking a Audi driven by 50-year-old Prineville woman Ann Kasberger head-on.
Minor was transported to St. Charles Prineville then flown by AirLink to St. Charles Bend to be treated for his injuries. Kasberger was sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Prineville.
Responding troopers from the Bend and Prineville state police offices are investigating the crash and driving under the influence of a controlled substance is believed to be the cause of the collision. A search warrant has subsequently been issued on Minor.
