Prineville nice place to retire but too expensive

Central Oregon and primarily Prineville may be a good place to retire, but the cost of groceries are super high and property taxes are out of sight!

Drazan is who should lead Oregon as next governor

If you've watched any of the political ads from the Tina Kotek camp, and several from Betsy Johnson's people, you will no doubt note that they are both very pro-choice. And anyone following the gubernatorial election at all should know that Christine Drazan is pro-life. All that is public record and not subject for further debate.

But my question is why Kotek and Johnson are attacking Drazan on this subject. The abortion matter is pretty much settled in this state, written into law some time back. The women's reproductive rights issue (a misnomer at best) is already a part of Oregon legislation. In other words, the abortion thing is a NON-ISSUE! So why all the hubbub?

Well, I will gladly tell you why. Because despite their televised psycho-babble sales pitch, Tina and Betsy have nothing else to talk about. They are both high-ranking Kate Brown lackeys and want to pretty much continue the same failing drama that Brown has inflicted on good Oregon folks for far too long. They have no plan to fix anything, because they think that everything is just fine.

Back during the gubernatorial debate, Christine Drazan spoke of plans to fix many of the ills of this state, as did Betsy Johnson. But apparently Tina Kotek's favorite word is "I"; as in "I did this, I did that, I did this, I did that." Problem is that the "this and that" she claims accomplished absolutely nothing except exacerbate an already bad situation, just like her mentor, Kate.

Simply put, and to partly quote Christine Drazan, we need "A new direction for Oregon," because the path we are presently on is seriously the wrong road. In many categories, like education, jobs and crime, Oregon has come to be a laughingstock on the national scene. We are in the bottom five in all of those groupings. Our cost of living is hideous. Our expectations to be able to power our daily lives is on the brink of collapse. And the present administration, along with Kotek and Johnson, want us to align with the other left coast utter failures, California and Washington. Portland may want to keep weird, but the rest of Oregon needs stability, standards and progress, not progressives.

Democrats are not to blame for the issues we face

Investigate the facts. For months, I have been reading unsubstantiated political facts blaming the Democrats for such things as unsecured voting, freedom of speech, taking away your guns, not teaching your children about our actual history. People are also saying that they are teaching your children transgender and homophobic information and much more outrageous information, when it's the Republicans doing all this, and blaming the Democrats.

The Republicans are the ones changing the voter laws to give the Republicans a better chance to win. They are the ones that are taking away your freedoms, such as abortions and freedom of speech.

Please check out all this information, so you are better informed when it comes to voting, or our country will end up like Russia, China and North Vietnam. Our country will end up like countries with dictators.

Don't just listen to one news station, check out the information on other stations.
