First Interstate Bank to host Chamber's Prineville Perk on Friday, morning Nov. 9

Mid Oegon Credit Union is encouraging the communities it serves to contribute to the annual Holiday Dough Fundraiser in every Mid Oregon branch to support local charities that provide food, clothing and shelter for individuals and families in the greatest need during the holidays.

Members and the general public can stop by any Mid Oregon branch to donate to Holiday Dough through Friday, Dec. 7. All contributions will stay in the community where they are collected, and 100 percent of the donations will benefit local agencies.

In Crook County, all donations will go to benefit Crook County Holiday Partnership, providing holiday support to seniors, children and families in need in Crook County.

Giving back to the community is a core value of Mid Oregon Credit Union, aligning with its credit union philosophy of "people helping people." Mid Oregon members responded generously during last year's Holiday Dough effort, donating nearly $2,000 to local holiday food banks. With recent changes to the food pantry offerings in several local communities, Mid Oregon is hoping that support will be even greater in 2018.

The Family Access Network (FAN) received $2,000 from Wells Fargo to work with children, parents and teachers to make sure that children have the tools they need to succeed in school and life. Throughout the school year, FAN advocates will connect children and their family members to vital ongoing needs such as adequate food, clean, well-fitted, and seasonally appropriate clothing, health and dental services, and housing assistance. Seasonal needs that FAN advocates often address in colder months include winter coats, snow boots and heating assistance. Wells Fargo is a key partner in this work.
