Hosting a holiday party is a wrap
Hosting a holiday party this season can be a wrap — as in the new Signature Wrap Platters from Subway.
"If you don't feel like cooking this holiday season, it's easy," Prineville Subway restaurant Manager Bev Ball said of the holiday platters.
Not only does Subway promote the holiday platters this time of year, they also have two new "Ultimate" sandwiches, where garlic butter spread is the star.
The new Signature Wrap Platters are stacked with double meat portions, cheese and crisp veggies, and served on a variety of Tomato Basil and Spinach wraps.
Subway offers three Signature Wrap Platter options: Classic, Savory and custom.
The Classic Signature Wrap Platter is a twist on American classics, featuring one Cold Cut Combo, two Black Forest Ham, two Turkey Breast, one Tuna and two Italian B.M.T. on Tomato Basil and Spinach wraps. Each platter contains 16 portions and serves eight to 12.
The Savory Signature Wrap Platter includes two Subway Clubs, one Roast Beef, one Spicy Italian, two Italian B.M.T. and two Tuna on Tomato Basil and Spinach Wraps. This platter also contains 16 portions and serves eight to 12.
Lastly, the wrap platter can be customized to include 16 portions of up to eight different wrap flavors and serves eight to 12 people.
For those looking for the traditional subway sandwiches for their holiday office party or Christmas Eve gathering, Subway offers four options of sub platters: Classic Combo, Flavor Craver, Fresh Fit and a custom platter.
The Classic Combo Platter features the Cold Cut Combo, Black Forest Ham, Turkey Breast, Tuna and Italian B.M.T. It contains 15 4-inch sandwiches and serves five to nine people.
The Flavor Craver Platter includes the Subway Club, Roast Beef, Spicy Italian, Italian B.M.T. and Tuna. This also contains 15 4-inch portions and serves five to nine.
The Subway Fresh Fit Platter features the Veggie Delite, Black Forest Ham, Turkey Breast, Subway Club and Roast Beef. The 15 4-inch subs serve five to nine.
"The custom is 7-foot long. It's a bigger platter," Ball said, noting that it includes 21 4-inch sandwiches. "We are the only Subway that serves the big 7-footer. … That is the number one platter that goes out. We refused to get rid of it because we knew it was our biggest seller."
Subway also offers giant subs, which must be ordered 36 hours in advance.
Ball said they'd like the traditional wrap and sub platters to be ordered a day in advance, but if that's not possible, they need at least three hours — and not at lunchtime.
Subway has also introduced two new subs on the new Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread.
Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread features a choice of bread lathered and toasted with a mixture of garlic butter spread, parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
While the Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread can be part of any sandwich for an extra charge, Subway is promoting the "new" bread as part of two featured sandwich builds.
The Ultimate Meatball Marinara boasts Italian-style meatballs and marinara sauce on Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread.
The Ultimate Spicy Italian Sandwich is a combination of pepperoni, Genoa salami, plus sauce and veggies on Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread.
"People think we have garlic bread, but we don't," Ball said. "It's not garlic bread – it's a garlic spread with mozzarella and parmesan cheese."
Better head to Subway before the Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread is gone at the end of the year.
