Mid Oregon Credit Union recently held a back-to-school drive for school supply donations to benefit the Crook County School District

The Prineville branch of Mid Oregon Credit Union held a back-to-school drive for donations of school supplies for Family Access Network recently to benefit Crook County School District students.

BendBroadband is now offering internet speed packages from 100Mbps to 600Mbps in Madras and Prineville for business and residential customers. The new speeds are more than a 500% increase from the previously offered packages of 5Mbps to 100Mbps.

"What's Brewing?" was postponed last month due to a scheduling conflict with another event. The kickoff for "What's Brewing?" will be held at Meadow Lakes Golf Course, 300 SE Meadow Lakes Drive, next Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Sara Johnson, superintendent of the Crook County School District. The Crook County School District has made great strides in the Career and Technical Education program. With assistance from community partners, the district is paving the pathway for a stunning future. Additionally, the revamped internship program enables our students to get real-life work experience. The Kiwanis Club of Prineville will be hosting a Kiwanis Casino Night on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Crook County Fairgrounds in the Carey Foster Hall from 5 to 9 p.m. Attendees must be 21 Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member. Al proceeds stay in Prineville and go towards projects such as the new splash pad, summer school and other programs benefiting the youth of our community.

There will be a Remodel Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at US Cellular, 1565 NE Third St. this Friday, Oct. 4 from 12 to 4 p.m.
