Rimrock Gallery to host Chamber-sponsored Prineville Perk this Friday morning

Meadow Lakes Golf Course will host the Christmas Goose Golf Tournament this Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. It will also be holding its Annual Holiday Sale from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and extensive savings throughout the shop, including gift certificates for 18 holes of golf valid all year in 2020. See the ad on page B2 of today's Central Oregonian.

Bowman Museum at 246 N Main St. will be hosting People from our Past this Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 12:15 p.m. with a presentation on Till's Tales by John Brown. The presentation will cover what life was like for African Americans who came to Oregon in the 19th century. Here is one man's story. Till Glaze talks about the life of John Brown, an early black homesteader, rancher and farmer who helped put Prineville on the map. The free presentation is open to all.

Rimrock Gallery will host this week's Prineville Perk on Friday, Dec. 13, from 8 to 8:30 a.m. It will be held at 405 NW Third St., Suite A. For more information on Prineville Perk, call the Chamber of Commerce at 541-447-6304.

The American Legion will have a Holiday Benefit Auction this Friday, Dec. 13, at the American Legion/VFW Hall at 405 N Main St. in Prineville. The auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include items donated by local merchants and individuals. The auction proceeds will be used to support Post 29's food basket and gift programs for local veterans and their families. The Legion Auxiliary will serve an enchilada dinner for $12 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome. For information, call Dennis Helms at 541-410-7514.

Christmas in the Pines "Remember when you believed?" Central Oregon's Lighted Wonderland at the Crook County Fairgrounds will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Christmas from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Every Saturday there will be a live Nativity, and Santa & Mrs. Claus will be there from 6 to 8 p.m. Entry to the event is through nonperishable food items for both humans and pets. Cash donations are accepted and appreciated. For more information, call 541-460-1239.

The 2019 Grimes Christmas Scene will be open through Dec. 24. Operating days and hours will vary. Check out its Facebook page under Grimes Christmas Scene with dates and hours posted.

Crooked River Miniature Train will be open every Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. in December. It has partnered with Christmas in the Pines. Stop in and check out all the amazing improvements they have made this year, and meet their wonderful volunteers. The event is free; park at the Grimes Christmas Scene and it's just a few steps away.
