Painted Hills Custom Leatherwill be hosting Prineville Perk this coming Friday

Painted Hills Custom Leather will host this week's Prineville Perk on Friday, Dec. 20, from 8 to 8:30 a.m. It will be held at 250 NE Third St. For more information on Prineville Perk, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 541-447-6304.

Christmas in the Pines "Remember When You Believed?" —Central Oregon's Lighted Wonderland at the Crook County Fairgrounds — will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Christmas from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Every Saturday there will be a live Nativity. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there from 6 to 8 p.m. Entry to the event is through non-perishable food items for both humans and pets. Cash donations accepted and appreciated. The 2019 Grimes Christmas Scene will be open through Dec. 24. Operating days and hours will vary, so please check out their Facebook page under Grimes Christmas Scene with dates and hours posted.

Crooked River Miniature Train will be open every Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. in December. They have partnered with Christmas in the Pines and ask that you stop in and check out all the amazing improvements they have made this year and meet their volunteers. It is a free event; you can park at the Grimes Christmas Scene and it's just a few steps away.

Powell Butte Christian Church, 13720 SW Hwy 126, in Powell Butte, is holding a free Drive-Thru Living Nativity "O Holy Night" this Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Fortis Construction representatives recently went to Paulina Elementary and donated $5,000 to build a new stage and for new playground equipment.

Fortis will design and build the stage, which will be easier for students to use, and will help install and build the new playground equipment.
