Newberg residents Wilma and Joel McNulty celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Feb. 2.
The couple met at the University of Illinois and were wed on Feb. 4, 1965, with a celebration following the wedding.
Joel was vice president and associate counsel for Standard Insurance Co. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the YMCA.
Wilma was employed as a speech therapist and spent her off hours as a vespid (wasp) collector and beekeeper. She was informally known as the Bee Lady of Lake Oswego. She attended Lake Grove Presbyterian Church.
The couple moved into Friendsview Manor in December 2017.
Children include daughters Linda McNulty Simpson, of Lake Oswego, Christine Rogerson, of Keizer, and son Colin McNulty, of Tigard.
The couple has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
