Indulging that sweet tooth at the annual candy crawl
Leaves are turning and sweet tooths are yearning—for candy!
It's that time again for the annual Candy Crawl, brought to the community by the Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce and Prineville business owners. On Saturday, Oct. 30, from noon to 5 p.m., businesses will be handing out candy to large and small goblins alike.
In addition to the traditional trick-or-treating for children, there will be passports for adults from each business they visit, which will be stamped by the business and then are turned in by participants at the chamber of commerce to enter drawings for prizes. The passports can be turned into the chamber office by Nov. 30, and a drawing will take place the following Friday, Dec. 3.
Deb Shaw, membership, marketing and events coordinator for Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce, indicated that the winners who are drawn will be notified. Prizes will be made possible by the various Prineville businesses as well.
In addition, Shaw said that businesses will be offering some booths for patrons due to the congestion during Candy Crawl. Many businesses will be set up at a booth, including those who don't have a home office or Saturday hours.
"They are not selling wares, that is not the point of this, but they can certainly share information about their business and hand out candy," she added.
The deadline for businesses to sign up is the end of the day on Oct. 20.
