The popular shopping event will be Nov. 10, with lots of specials and goodies throughout the week at participating businesses

RAMONA MCCALLISTER - Emma Daniels, right, and Kim Dillinger spend some time in Vintage Cottage, one of several Prineville businesses participating in Ladies Night 2022. The event will be held at multiple downtown businesses on Nov. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.

A favorite shopping event will be happening this weekend, with fun and savings throughout the rest of the week.

A longstanding tradition, Ladies Night, has been offered by a core group of businesses in downtown Prineville for a number of years. Even during the pandemic, participating merchants found a way to improvise and offer a modified version of the event.

Ladies Night will take place Nov. 10, beginning at 4 p.m., and last until 8 p.m. Shoppers can access information and specials on Facebook at Ladies Night 2022.

"Grab your friends and join us for our fabulous annual Ladies Night Out in downtown Prineville," is the comment on their page on Facebook. "It's our way of saying thank you for all your support over the past year!"

Michelle Simpson, co-owner of Posie Shoppe, has been a participating business from the beginning of the tradition. She is joined by two new businesses this year — Whiskey Darlin and Sage Door, as well as returning businesses Terry's Jewelry, Bayberry Lane, Vintage Cottage, Wild Rose Boutique, Sweet Willow and Company and De Ju Vu Salon.

On Thursday, there will be goodies, fun, great specials and 20% off any one item in each store from 4-8 p.m. During the week, participating businesses will have a variety of specials. Each business has their own spin on food, drinks and fun.

Another tradition that has been popular are the passports for shoppers to have stamped by the participating businesses. They can be picked up and stamped by any of these merchants.

"When they get their cards at any of the businesses and get them stamped — they stamp them all week — and then on Friday they turn them in, they can be turned in to any of the businesses."

Simpson collects all cards turned in and they conduct a random drawing for prizes. She noted that this event is anticipated by their customers each year, even well ahead of time.

"People ask us all year when it is and if we are doing it again," concluded Simpson. "We have (had the event) for so many years now, it is kind of self-propelling."
