The annual For the Children Softball Tournament was held in Prineville on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 to 27.

The women’s softball tournament raised more than $3,700 to support For The Children, a nonprofit Crook County child abuse prevention organization. The funds go to help with child abuse awareness efforts and the training of law enforcement personnel. Thirteen teams participated in the tournament with Mike’s Fence Center going undefeated and winning the event. Marles Vizenor, spokesperson for the Prineville Women’s League, said that the league would like to thank all the merchants and individuals that helped make the tournament a success.

Vizenor, who is the pitcher for Mike’s Fence Center, helped her team to a 3-1 victory over Home Town Dillon’s in the championship game.
