Runners and walkers brave cool weather in annual race, finishers rewarded with pie

Nearly 50 runners and walkers braved chilly and sometimes windy weather on Saturday, Nov. 4 as they raced in the annual Lord's Acre Run.

Age group winners in the 5K and 10K races received pies at the finish line, while all finishers earned a slice of pie.

Jason Colquhoun ran away from the field to easily win the 5K race, finishing more than three minutes ahead of runner up Ted Wolfee.

Colquhoun covered the distance in 19:08.1, while Wolfee finished in 22:22.8.

Rod Thompson and Kurt Noonan were the next two runners in, finishing in 23:01.5 and 24:12.8 respectively.

The first woman finisher was Savanna Pitman, who finished seventh overall with a time of 25:12.4. The next woman in was Karisa Parish, who finished 14th overall with a time of 32:26.2.

The final two finishers in the 28-person race were Terry Leah and Lana Waud, who finished in 55:16.3 and 55:19.1 respectively.

There was also a clear winner in the 10K race as Peter Curran ran away from J.J. Howard in the middle portion of the race to win in a time of 36:24.1. Howard finished second with a time of 38:28.5, while Tom Perry was third in 41:19.0.

Lisa Meredith was the first woman finisher as she narrowly edged Judy Foster and Maria Madden. Meredith was eighth overall with a time of 53:54.5, while Foster finished ninth in 54:07.2 and Madden was 10th with a time of 57:52.7.

Ron Anderson was the last finisher on the day, taking 15th in the 10K race with a time of 1:10.43.

The Lord's Acre Run is run each year in conjunction with the Lord's Acre Day celebration, which is held annually the first Saturday in November. This year marked the 71st anniversary of the Lord's Acre event.
