Brooke Dalton, Abby Dalton, Berkley Puckett and Ashley Owens named to all-conference first team

Brooke DaltonThe Crook County Cowgirls are well represented on the Tri-Valley Conference all-league softball team.

After finishing second in the conference, eight Cowgirls were selected to the team, including four on the all-conference first team.

Leading the way for the Cowgirls on the first team is senior outfielder Abby Dalton, a four time all-conference selection.

Joining Dalton on the first team are sophomore outfielder Ashley Owens, sophomore pitcher Brooke Dalton, and junior shortstop Berkley Berkley PuckettPuckett.

Earning second team recognition for the Cowgirls is senior first baseman Emma Ackley.

The remaining three Cowgirls all received honorable mention recognition.

They include senior outfielder Jillian Denney, senior infielder Justine Brinkley, and freshman infielder Liz Barker.

The Cowgirls advanced to the first round of the state playoffs where they lost to No. 1 ranked La Ashley OwensGrande.

The team finished the season with a 10-5 league record and a 17-10 overall mark.

The league champion Gladstone Gladiators placed 10 players on the all-league team, led by player of the year Sabrina Ward and pitcher of the year Shaye Pinner.

Gladstone first-year head coach Emily Smith was named coach of the year.

The Corbett Cardinals, who finished third in the conference, placed seven players on the all-Abby Daltonleague team, while the fourth-place Madras White Buffalos had six players recognized.

Joining Puckett, Owens and the Dalton sisters on the all-league first team are Pinner, Gladstone, Ward, Gladstone, Laila Bennett, Gladstone, Lizzie Steuart, Madras, Makaylah Kluken, Molalla, Morgan Stafford, Corbett, Dessie Alvarado, Gladstone, Daphne Scott, Corbett, Faith McQueen, Corbett, Lindsey Flegel, Corbett, and Emily Gates, Molalla.
