CCHS Cowboys Kevin Arroyo and Pablo Casado also named to IMC all-league soccer team

The Crook County High School boys soccer team struggled to get wins this year, finishing with a 3-10-1 overall record and a 2-7-1 league mark.

Still, that was good enough to finish fourth in the six-team Intermountain Conference.

For the effort, three Crook County players were named to the all-league team.

Crook County defender Moses Freauff was named to the Intermountain Conference first team as a defender. The senior, three-year starter, has anchored the Crook County defense for the past two years. Freauff has also shown the ability to push the ball up the field and play forward when given an opportunity.

Two other Cowboys also received all-league recognition.

Freshman Kevin Arroyo, who led the Cowboys in scoring, was named to the all-league second team as a forward, while goalkeeper Pablo Casado, a foreign exchange student from Spain, was named honorable mention as a goalkeeper.

Senior midfielder Cade O'Neill of the league champion Ridgeview Ravens was named the league player of the year.

Ridgeview head coach Jimmy Kim and the rest of the Ridgeview coaching staff were named coaching staff of the year.

The Ravens, who finished the season with an 8-0-2 league record and an 11-3-2 overall record, fell 2-0 to La Salle Prep in the state playoff quarterfinals.

The Ravens placed nine players on the all-league team, including three on the first team.

Hood River Valley, which finished second in the IMC, and The Dalles/Dufur, which finished third, each had six players selected to the all-league team, including two to the first team.

Pendleton, which finished fifth in the final standings, was also well represented on the team with four players selected, including two on the first team.

Last place Redmond had one player on the first team, one on the second, and one player selected honorable mention, just like the Cowboys.
