CCHS golfers show progress
The Crook County High School girls golf team played a pair of tournaments this past week, getting better as the week progressed.
The girls hit the links for the first time in more than a year on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for a nine-hole tournament at Eagle Crest Resort.
No team scores were available for the tournament at press time, but the Cowgirl team posted some solid scores.
Merritt O'Gorman was first in for the Cowgirls with a round of 51. She was followed by Kaiya Eller, 54, Natalie Stefanek, 59, Emma Daniels, 67, and Aspen Gunderson, 74.
Then, on Wednesday the team was back in action hosting a two-team tournament at Prineville Golf Club.
Ridgeview won the tournament with a team score of 216, while the Cowgirls finished with a team total of 228.
However, all but one Cowgirl improved their score from the previous day.
Once again, Crook County was led by O'Gorman, who posted a score of 49. She was followed by Eller, 52, Stefanek, 62, Daniels, 65, and Gunderson, 66.
Crook County will compete in one final tournament to end the OSAA Season 1 when they face Redmond and Ridgeview at Eagle Crest Golf Course. Tee times begin at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
