Crook County High School coach praises the effort of all of her soccer players

The Crook County High School girls soccer team was shut out twice this past week by the Ridgeview Ravens, who won games in Redmond on Tuesday and in Prineville Friday evening.

"The girls had much progress," Crook County head coach Destanie Johnson said despite the lopsided losses.

Johnson noted the passing of Grace Flitner and Lauren Papke as well as the defensive play of MaKenna Duran.

"Grace and Lauren were able to connect and use the left side with some give and goes on Tuesday," she said. "Lauren had a beautiful shot on goal that Ridgeview's keeper was able to get, and MaKenna really helped strengthen our defense with her speed and aggressive playing. She came in out of nowhere multiple times and stole the ball."

The matches were the final two games of OSAA season 1 for the Cowgirls.
