Ted Kennedy trails Jeff Brown by stroke after day one of tournament, but comes back to tie the match, before winning in sudden death

LON AUSTIN - Ted Kennedy finished the tournament with a score of 78-75 ? 153.In one of the closest tournaments in recent memory, Ted Kennedy survived a sudden-death overtime to win the Meadow Lakes Club Championship, which was held Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1.

Kennedy, who trailed Jeff Brown by a stroke after day one of the tournament, came back to tie the match late on Sunday, before finding a way to win in sudden death.

Kennedy finished the two-day tournament with a score of 78-75 – 153, while Brown finished with a two-day total of 77-76 – 163.

Levi Bishop, who was tied for sixth after day one of the tournament, came back to finish third with rounds of 82-76 – 158. Rounding out the top five were Jake Shinkle, 83-76 – 159 and Patrick Andrade, 82-79 – 161.

Kennedy was also first in the gross senior portion of the tournament while J.W. Miller won the super senior gross championship with a score of 85-92 – 177.

Jim Johnson was the overall club net champion with a score of 72-69 – 141, while Jim Sloan was second with scores of 67-76 – 143. Patrick Andrade finished third in the net portion of the tournament with scores of 77-74 – 151. Johnson was also the senior net winner, while Gerry Youel was the super senior net champion with scores of 69-78 – 147.

The B flight portion of the tournament saw Bart Rison shoot rounds of 90-81 – 171 to win gross, while John Cleveland was second with rounds of 88-90 – 178. Miller won the net portion of the B flight, while Norm Mallonee was second with rounds of 79-77 – 156.

Steve Spangler won the C flight gross with a score of 83-90 – 173, while Greg Myers was second with rounds of 88-92 – 180. Youel won the net portion of the C flight, while Lanny Bales was second with rounds of 74-77 – 151.
