Crook County Cowgirls golfers place second at the first Intermountain Conference girls golf tournament
The Crook County High School girls golf team finished a close second place to Redmond in the first Intermountain Conference girls golf tournament of the season last week.
Redmond posted a score of 430 at the event, which the Panthers hosted at the Eagle Crest Ridge Course in Redmond, while the Cowgirls finished with a 436 total. Rounding out the scoring were Ridgeview (445), Hood River Valley (486), and Pendleton (492). The Dalles and La Pine also played, but did not field complete teams.
Crook County's Merritt O'Gorman took medalist honors with a round of 89. She was followed by Redmond's Elizabeth Richardson, who shot a 90, and Nellie Wilkinson of The Dalles, who finished with a 97.
Crook County's Haylee Noland tied for sixth place with a score of 100. Rounding out the scoring for Crook County were Sawyer McDonald at 113, McKenzie Jonas at 134, and Aspen Gunderson with a round of 160.
The Cowgirls played at The Dalles on Monday, April 25, but results were not available at press time. The team will also play at Lost Tracks Golf Club in Bend this Thursday, April 28, with tee times beginning at 11 a.m.
