The Cowboys placed second in their division ahead of the Oregon State High School Clay Target League championships.

The Crook County High School trap team has qualified for the Oregon State High School Clay Target League state championships, which will be held June 25-27 at Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club.

The state trap competitions are divided into two different classifications, with Crook County competing in the 1A division in Conference 1.

Other teams in the conference include Madras, North Medford, Arlington, Tigard, Silvies River Charter School, Scappoose, C.S. Lewis Academy, South Medford, Kings Valley Charter School, Ukiah and Vernonia.

Madras High School won the league championship with 1,109 points. Crook County was second with 988 points, while North Medford finished in third place with 951 points.

The 1A portion of the state championship will be held June 26, while the 2A portion will be held June 27.
