There are several ways to participate in Splash N Dash on Independence Day
There's no better way to get your heart beating for Independence Day than to get some exercise and have some fun.
The annual Splash-N-Dash is scheduled for July 4, with the first wave set to start at 8 a.m.
This year's participants have four choices of races, the quadrathlon, a triathlon, a duathlon or the John Marsh Memorial 5K run.
The quadrathlon consists of a 500-meter swim, an 11-mile bike ride, a 1.75-mile kayak and a four-mile run. The triathlon also begins with a 500-meter swim followed by a 12.5-mile bike ride and a four-mile run, while the duathlon has a 12.5-mile bike ride followed by a four-mile run. All races start at the Prineville Swimming Pool.
Racers have the option of competing as a relay team with up to four members or as individuals. Cost for the event is $30 for individual competitors and $25 for each team member. Cost for day-of-the-race registration is $5 more per person.
Interested individuals can register by going on line at https://splashdash.org/register/ or you can download the form and mail to Splash-N-Dash c/o Prineville Chamber PO Box 1470 Prineville OR 97754.
Individuals may also print the form and bring it to the registration table at the Prineville Swimming Pool on the day of the race between 7:15 and 9 a.m.
