We want to keep you updated on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout at River Terrace. Since the virus affects seniors more severely, we were pleased to be able to administer the vaccine. On January 5, River Terrace administered its first vaccination. The vaccine was supplied by our house pharmacy, Consonus Health, who were well-organized and provided a pharmacist to oversee dosing. The vaccinations were administered by an RN and a second nurse was on-hand to observe all the residents. If a resident had a significant side effect the nurse would then be able to appropriately follow-up. It wasn't necessary, however because all our residents and employees received their vaccinations with no significant side effects.

The second dose was administered on January 26.  For the individuals who were not able to receive a vaccination on January 5 but received the first dose on January 26 they will receive their booster vaccination on February 16.

Our kitchen provided wonderful snacks and drinks for our residents to have after they received the vaccination.  We had our residents sit in our dining room for a while after receiving their vaccination so that we could observe their condition.

We are pleased to report that our residents were very receptive and helpful when receiving their vaccination. We would like to thank our families for filling out all the paperwork in a timely manner and for supporting our efforts to vaccinate our wonderful residents.
