Oregon City School District administrators switched jobs this summer.

McLoughlin Elementary Principal Ginger Redlinger moved to the Community Education department as supervisor and the leader of the district’s new science, technology, engineering and mathematics initiatives. Community Education Supervisor Lisa Normand became the next principal at McLoughlin Elementary.

“I enjoyed my time in the McLoughlin community and will miss all the students, families and staff greatly,” Redlinger said. “This is a great opportunity to build upon the impressive Community Education programs and infuse a focus on science, technology, engineering and math, which is very exciting.”

Redlinger has a long history of teaching and statewide leadership with a focus on STEM. Redlinger was the founding principal of Clackamas Academy for Industrial Sciences. OCSD recently joined the SouthMetro STEM coalition with a goal of providing increased STEM focus and career readiness. Redlinger’s skills and background with STEM isolated her as a perfect fit for the next growth phase of Oregon City Community Education.

“I am so excited to start at McLoughlin and have the chance to work with all the students, families and staff," Normand said. “The McLoughlin community is very strong and supportive and I feel lucky to have the ability to build upon the great things already happening there.”

Normand, a former school counselor, is a respected district administrator and leader in the Oregon City community. Normand is credited with enhancing the Community Education department and its various programs to include stronger academic support and community partnerships. Under Normand’s leadership, programs have expanded with a focus on early childhood, literacy, and talented and gifted enrichment. At the same time, Normand has served as the counseling coordinator for the district.

"I am confident that these transfers will be positive for both McLoughlin and our Community Education programs,” said Superintendent Larry Didway. “Lisa and Ginger are both widely respected for providing outstanding leadership and vision.”
