At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, officers responded to a report of a crash near Southeast Addie Street south of Milwaukie and just north of Gladstone city limits. Horton was transported to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital by ambulance.

Gardner, who was not injured, reportedly remained at the crash scene and was cooperative with police. Investigators found her Kia was heading east on Jennings and took a left onto Addie when she hit Horton traveling west on Jennings. As Gardner made the turn, she ejected Horton off his bike.

CCSO officials urged everyone to look twice before turning at intersections and driveways — and to be on the lookout for motorcyclists, other vehicles and pedestrians.
