Teenager injured in Holly Acres Apartments shooting
At about 6 p.m. on Sunday, deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting in Oak Grove that was in the same apartment complex as a shooting death last year.
On Nov. 5, at the Holly Acres apartment complex, 3710 S.E. Concord Road, deputies arrived and secured the area, and found an injured 17-year-old boy.
Deputies provided emergency medical care to the teenager until paramedics arrived. Clackamas Fire District #1 paramedics provided medical care to the boy on the scene.
An American Medical Response ambulance subsequently transported him to a local hospital. Deputies said that his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
CCSO detectives said in press release that they are actively working to identify and contact witnesses. Crime-scene investigators were at the location collecting evidence.
There was only one victim, according to the sheriff's office, and investigators do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.
At the same apartment complex in January 2016, 19-year-old Christopher Kalonji was shot and killed by police after he was seen in possession of a rifle. Last year, a Clackamas County grand jury concluded that county deputies were justified in using deadly defensive force against the 2014 Rex Putnam High School graduate.
