CarMax, Trail Blazers unveil play equipment at Boys & Girls Club
The CarMax Foundation and representatives from the Portland Trail Blazers unveiled Wednesday the new Imagination Playground at the Boys & Girls Club in Oak Grove.
The innovative play equipment has been donated by the CarMax Foundation and national nonprofit KaBOOM to encourage creativity, communication and collaboration in play. With a collection of custom-designed, oversized blue foam parts, Imagination Playground provides a changing array of elements that allow kids to create a playspace that is constantly built and re-built by their imagination.
"We are so excited and grateful to be selected by The CarMax Foundation and the Portland Trail Blazers as the recipient of a KaBOOM Imagination Playground," said BGCP CEO Erin Hubert. "We can't think of a better complement to the clubs' dedication to creating lifelong healthy habits through inspiring communication, problem-solving and physical fitness all together at once. Our youth are going to have so much fun with these!"
The playground is the 34th Imagination Playground that the CarMax Foundation has donated in conjunction with KaBOOM.
"With our own Trail Blazers philanthropic focus on youth and families, this partnership with the CarMax Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs is an ideal fit," said Steve Scott, senior vice president of revenue for the Trail Blazers.
Members of the Portland Trail Blazers including starting center Jusuf Nurkic, joined in on the fun at the Boys & Girls Club of Portland Metropolitan Area, 1905 S.E. Oak Grove Blvd., Oak Grove.
