Workshop is part of the Citizen Fire Academy education program, putting wildfire preparedness into the hands of landowners

Clackamas County's OSU Extension Service, in cooperation with the Oregon Department of Forestry, will offer "Protect Your Home From Wildfire: A Workshop for Homeowners" from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Oregon Garden, 879 W. Main St., Silverton.

The workshop will focus on the most important part of your fire defense strategy — the area within 200 feet of your home. Learn how a fire professional views your home and property, and the steps you can take to reduce risk.

The workshop is part of the Citizen Fire Academy education program, putting wildfire preparedness into the hands of landowners and the community, with the help of local, state and federal fire management agencies.

Cost for the program is $5/person; register by June 1 at tinyurl.com/CitizenFireAcademyJune2018.
