Operation Kidsafe plans Gladstone safety event
Operation Kidsafe's free child-safety event will take place in Gladstone later this month.
Operation Kidsafe offers a private consultation for families. Fingerprints of each child's hands, along with a full digital head and shoulder photograph, are taken. The information is then printed, given to parents for safekeeping, and is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency. Safety tips to start a family safety action plan also are included. No database or records of children are maintained by anyone but the parent.
Operation Kidsafe founder Mark Bott has been a child-safety advocate for 18 years, working with John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted" and helping start the Amber Alert.
Visit Kidsafe's booth from noon to 6 p.m. June 12 through June 15, and from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Town & Country Honda of Gladstone, 19400 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd. No special information is needed, as there is no databasing. All children 1 and older and special-needs adults are encouraged to visit this free event.
