On July 12, Stacie Moncrief took the oath of office to fill the opening created after Gladstone School Board member Sharon Soliday resigned in June.
Gladstone School Board members unanimously appointed Moncrief to fill the seat at their June meeting. She will serve through June 30, but is expected to run for a full four-year term in next May's election.
A 13-year resident of Gladstone, Moncrief is principal of Gilbert Park Elementary School in the David Douglas School District. She has worked in education for 22 years and has two children attending Gladstone's John Wetten Elementary and Kraxberger Middle School, a fifth grader and a seventh grader.
"It is critical that there is an alignment of district goals and a strong working relationship between the superintendent, administrators, teachers and the community," Moncrief said. "I am excited to support our schools and our community by serving on the [Gladstone School] Board."
