Oregon City painter displays 50 years of work
The work of Oregon City artist Leland John is on display in Clackamas Community College's Alexander Gallery through Oct. 26.
John, a former CCC art instructor, will exhibit a sampling of the past 50 years of his painting career. Many of the works in the exhibition will be for sale, and proceeds will support the CCC Art Department.
"Traditional in style, these works capture the harmonious balance between humankind and nature," said Kate Simmons, CCC art instructor.
An artist's reception will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Alexander Gallery. John will speak about his work at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. The Alexander Gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., and is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, except for campus closures.
