Concord School site of Netflix filming through January
Netflix has received a permit from Clackamas County to film in Oak Grove through Jan. 31.
"Trinkets," a show being produced by Awesomeness TV, is filming its first season at Concord School.
Promotional material for the show describes it as a "grounded, mixed-tone half-hour about three disparate high school girls who become unlikely friends when they all meet in Shoplifter's Anonymous." The series is based on the book "Trinkets" by Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith.
Issuing the permit was the North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District, which last March became the owner of the Concord School, 3811 S.E. Concord Road.
Awesomeness TV is informing neighbors within a one-block radius of the property about their work at the school site, and also will provide advance notice of any outdoor filming. Filming will not affect the county planning for the future of the Concord site and a future Oak Grove Library.
County officials say the revenue from the special permit will go to NCPRD and be used to help cover utility expenses for Concord School.
Several of NCPRD's sports programs that have been scheduled at the Concord property are anticipated to occur as planned with little or no disruption. Adult Coed Basketball Open Gym, located at the Concord gymnasium, will start in spring 2019 after the filming has completed.
