The public is invited to two free film screenings, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., followed by a presentation from Nathanial Bohme, LGBT veterans coordinator for the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, at 19600 Molalla Ave.

Clackamas Community College's Veterans Education and Training Center and Veterans Club are screening "Breaking the Silence: Stories of Oregon's LGBTQ veterans" on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The public is invited to two free screenings, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., followed by a presentation from Nathanial Bohme, LGBT veterans coordinator for the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, in CCC's McLoughlin Auditorium, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.

The film is the result of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs recording the stories of veterans and service members from across the state who were forced to serve in silence prior to the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell in 2011. In June 2016, the ban keeping transgender Americans from serving openly was also lifted.
