Students from both Oregon City High School and Clackamas Academy of Industrial Science tour 11 local businesses and new learning center at Clackamas Community College

Students from both Oregon City High School and Clackamas Academy of Industrial Science participated in Manufacturing Day, exploring careers in manufacturing through tours of 11 local businesses and a new learning center at Clackamas Community College.

 High school-age students in Oregon City tour Warn Industries.The Oct. 5 event gave students the opportunity to tour WARN Industries, Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods, Northwest Technologies, Eaton Corp., DWFritz Automation, Milwaukie Electronics, Cascade Engineering Technologies, CRB Manufacturing, Blount International, General Sheet Metal Works Inc., and Miles Fiberglass.

Student started their day with a tour of Clackamas Community College's new Industrial Technology Center. The state-of-the-art building is home to the college's manufacturing, manual and CNC machining and renewable energy programs, which offer students a comprehensive, hands-on education to prepare them for high-demand jobs.

A tech fair in the afternoon gave students the chance to see tooling demonstrations by local industry leaders and learn what skills businesses are looking for in the next generation of manufacturing professionals.
