Oak Grove resident turning 100 years old on Election Day
Vida Francis (Becker) Stevenson, a resident of Golden Age Living in Oak Grove, will turn 100 years old on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Stevenson's birthday happens to fall on Election Day this year, and she filled in and mailed her ballot on Oct. 22.
Born in Woodburn on Nov. 6, 1918, Stevenson graduated from Mt. Angel Academy on June 4, 1936. Mt. Angel Academy was a boarding school for elementary and high school students in the Willamette Valley.
Stevenson married John Kinns on Nov. 16, 1937, and lived on a farm west of Woodburn. They had three daughters and moved to Portland in 1954. Stevenson worked for local appliance retailer BASCO until her retirement. Stevenson married William "Steve " Stevenson on Dec. 14, 1971, and enjoys watching golf, Notre Dame football and reruns of MASH. She loves having visitors.
