Governor names locals to state advisory boards
Gov. Kate Brown recently submitted the names of Oregon City, Gladstone and Milwaukie residents among a list of state board and commission appointments to the Oregon Senate for confirmation.
The Senate Rules Committee is scheduled to consider the nominations on Dec. 12.
An Oregon City resident, Lisa Bui, quality improvement director for the Oregon Health Authority, is set to begin a term on the Patient Safety Commission Board of Directors on Dec. 17.
Milwaukie's Kelly Maura, Portland State University associate sociology professor, will serve on the Oregon Commission for Women.
Michael Starr of Gladstone will serve on the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Institute of Technology. Ryan Richards of Oregon City will serve on the Electrical and Elevator Board.
"These candidates represent the Oregon way, a commitment to working together to care for our communities and our neighbors," Brown said. "I am appreciative of the expertise and wisdom they will bring to collaboratively address issues and create prosperity in our state today and in the years to come."
