McLoughlin Elementary's top student fundraisers rewarded with a limousine ride to lunch

Students at McLoughlin Elementary now have physical education twice as often thanks to a school-wide fundraiser that allowed the school to hire a part-time P.E. teacher.

The class who raised the most money to hire a P.E. teacher was rewarded with a stretch limousine ride to McDonalds for lunch. Families sold cookie dough to raise the funds to expanding physical education from once a week to twice a week. Before the fundraiser, students had a single session of P.E. taught by their classroom teacher.

"The research is clear: when kids get more exercise, their stress levels are reduced and they learn better," said Principal Candice Henkin. "I'm grateful our community stepped up to support more physical education for all our students."
