Pursuit starting in Oregon City ends at Camas Cemetery
What started off as a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in Oregon City turned into a pursuit that ended in Camas, Washington.
The 26-year-old suspect, Nathanael Aaron Samuel, led Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies on a lengthy chase up I-205 early Friday morning before turning onto SR-14.
The pursuit ended outside the Camas Cemetery after the white pickup truck ran off the road and came to a rest inbetween two houses. Then, the suspect ran into the cemetery. However, authorities Tased him and were able to take him into custody a short time later.
Samuel was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, two charges of attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, reckless endangering and a probation violation on meth possession.
Samuel is being held without bail and authorities said he's a suspect in numerous felonies in Clackamas County.
According to court records, Samuel pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle less than three months ago.
