Oregon City thespians compete at regionals
After a 30-year hiatus, the Oregon City High School thespian troupe was reborn this year, sending students to compete at the state's Northeast Regional Conference.
"For the competition, students create prepared performances that stand on their own to showcase individual growth and artistry in acting, singing or technical skills," said drama teacher Clyde Berry.
OCHS had 20 entries across a range of categories, including freshman and senior novices and experienced performers. The troupe earned eight superior ratings, 26 excellent ratings, and 18 good ratings. Three performances took first place, five took second place and eight took third place.
Ellie Lundgreen and Alissa Damewood scored in the top 10 percent. Both will advance to the final competition in Salem.
