Oregon City history comes to the stage in West Linn
History will come alive during a theatrical reading at the Sunset Firehall as the West Linn Historical Society's annual "Voices from the Past" event features a staged reading of a new play titled "McLoughlin and Moore."
On May 11, this theatrical production will explore the lives of Dr. John McLoughlin and Major Robert Moore and their wives in a style of theater that relies on dialogue rather than action, with an emphasis on the use of imagination and on voice acting. The play will feature actors portraying these founders and influencers who helped make Oregon City and West Linn the cities they are today.
"The more I learned about the interesting lives of Dr. McLoughlin and Robert Moore through doing research of the (Willamette) Falls area, the more I knew there was an fascinating story to be told," said producer and creator Roger Shepherd. "These men not only founded Oregon City and West Linn, but were deeply involved in the early development of the Oregon Country."
