Oregon City HS students win national service award
Oregon City High School's Student Council is one of only three in Oregon awarded the national Gold Council of Excellence Award for exceptional leadership and service to their school. This is the fourth time in five years the school has received the honor.
To win the award, student councils are required to complete four projects in global citizenship, focused on equity, civic engagement, positive social change, wellness, and awareness. Projects include Unity Week, an equity survey and fundraisers to support the Pioneer Pantry and other student needs. This year the group raised more than $11,000.
