Physician assistant Elizabeth Schmidt treats skin, hair, nail conditions in the Providence Milwaukie Medical Plaza

Dermatology-trained physician's assistant Elizabeth Schmidt will provide general dermatology services for adults and children at Silver Falls Dermatology's new office in the Providence Milwaukie Medical Plaza.

SchmidtSchmidt has trained in diagnosing and treating conditions of the skin, hair and nails, such as acne, dermatitis, psoriasis, seborrhea, bacterial and viral infections, herpes, warts, rosacea, eczemas and alopecia. She is licensed to diagnose and treat benign and malignant skin lesions, including skin cancer.

Schmidt was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor's degree in biology. Throughout her undergraduate training, she did laboratory research with the university and worked as a dermatology medical assistant.

Schmidt then moved to Oregon and attended the Pacific University School of Physician Assistant Studies where she graduated with a master's degree. During her clinical year, she focused her rotations with an emphasis in dermatology.

Upon graduation in 2016, she worked in a community health clinic before joining Silver Falls Dermatology's McMinville office in August 2017.

In Milwaukie, Schmidt will begin seeing patients July 16.
