Churches help spruce up Gladstone schools
During the annual Church Left the Building event, dozens of volunteers from five Gladstone congregations worked Aug. 25 to spiff up Gladstone school grounds in preparation for the return of students Sept. 3.
One group painted the ticket booth at the football stadium, while others painted the kindergarten tricycle paths. Others restocked the Clothes Closet, pulled weeds at Kraxberger Middle School, and prepped garden beds in the Gladstone High School courtyard.
"We're so grateful for this group's hard work to help us prepare for the start of school," said grounds manager Ted Yates. "What a special way to welcome our students back."
Volunteers in the project came from Source Church, Gladstone First Baptist, Gladstone Christian, Gospel Fellowship Community and Gladstone Church of the Nazarene.
