Rainy golf raises $17K for Clackamas Sunrise Rotary Foundation
Clackamas Sunrise Rotary Foundation recently held its 12th-annual Humanity in Motion Golf Tournament.
"The rainy weather seemed not to dampen the spirit of the event, which raised over $17,000 towards serving nonprofits in Clackamas County," said Club President Renee Taylor. "100% of the funds raised will benefit a number of humanitarian service projects in both our local community and internationally."
This fundraising event has raised over $178,000 in the last 12 years. The most recent Sept. 18 event was held at the Eastmoreland Golf Course.
This month the club began using the funds to deliver winter coats to local children in need through Operation Warm. Funds also go to scholarships for Rex Putnam High School students, a Sabin-Schellenberg Trade Scholarship and a youth foreign exchange program.
The club meets 7 a.m. on Fridays at the Clackamas Banquet Center, and if you're interested in learning more, visit ClackamasSunriseRotary.org.
