Michael Clutter selected as John Wetten principal
Michael Clutter will be the new principal of Gladstone's John Wetten Elementary starting in July.
The father of three young children, Clutter is a veteran educator who has served 18 years in the Reynolds School District. He replaces Wendy Wilson, retiring in June after 10 years as Wetten's principal.
Clutter's leadership experience includes four years as principal of Woodland Elementary and four years as principal at Alder Elementary. Prior to that, he spent a decade teaching first grade, second grade and alternative high school classes.
"Michael is a natural collaborator, exceptional in his work with teacher teams," said Gladstone Superintendent Bob Stewart. "His passion for equity work and connecting with families will be an asset to our community."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as principal at John Wetten and to continue the standard of excellence in education," Clutter said. "My passion is helping students learn and grow as individuals, and I am excited to work with such a dedicated staff to ensure that our students reach their full potential."
