2-year-old killed in Milwaukie hit-and-run
Police are seeking clues about traffic in the Milwaukie area that may have hit and killed a 2-year-old child at about 12:06 p.m. Thursday, July 2.
Jack Barrett was struck by an unknown vehicle, which sadly resulted in his death, police reported on July 3.
"As you can imagine, it's a difficult time for the family, and our hearts and thoughts go out to the family," said Milwaukie police officer Brad Walther. "We are looking for the community's help regarding this incident.
Detectives investigating the incident along the 9500 block of Wichita Avenue near Hazel Street are looking for any additional information from the other drivers who were in the area between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. They say this additional information could greatly enhance timelines, leads and information detectives are currently looking into.
Police are no longer looking for a white, two-door pickup truck that left Southeast Wichita Avenue near Firwood Street. This truck, which was reported to police by a neighbor, was eliminated as a vehicle of interest after review of nearby video collected and timelines.
