Those 21 and under can get free appointments Oct. 19-23 in van parked at 18800 Portland Ave.

Gladstone Center for Children and Families, 18905 Portland Ave., will again host the Tooth Taxi from Oct. 19-23 to provide free dental treatment for youths in the Gladstone School District.

Tooth Taxi is a mobile dental van provided by the Dental Foundation of Oregon, whose mission is to improve oral health for Oregon's children. Giving away over $100,000 worth of free dental services for Gladstone students in the past few years, the program serves youths from infants with their first tooth to age 21.

Tooth Taxi is staffed by dental professionals and offers a range of dental services including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings and simple extractions for free. Treatment priority will be given to those students who have no dental insurance, are experiencing pain, have never been seen by a dentist, are on the Oregon Health Plan but are not being seen regularly by a dentist, and those who may not be able to afford their co-pay. Tooth Taxi staff will follow the most recent COVID-19 recommendations of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Oregon Health Authority. Registration in advance is needed, and a patient consent form must be completed. Contact Carrie Peterson at 503-329-8877 to make an appointment.
